Alps Water Filter Unit 12L

ALPS is a natural gravity fed water filtration system that is designed to remove all types of contaminants in tap water via a ten stage filtration process

Stage 1:Ceramic Dome: (Replace every 6 to 9 months) 

Immerse/soak in water at least ten minutes, which rids the dome of any dust particles from the manufacturing process and primes it for use. Assemble ceramic dome via butterfly nut & washer, onto the smaller (top) container as illustrated re (SPL-2/3). Gently remove and gently clean the dome periodically with a soft toothbrush/fabric under running water, especially if/when residue forms on the dome surface.

Stage 2 to 7: 6 layer Cartridge: (Replace every 6 to 9 months)

Immerse/soak in water for at least two hours – this rids the cartridge of any dust particles from the manufacturing process and primes it for use. After soaking the 6-stage filter cartridge, place it under running water and then give it a good shake. This will remove any air pockets and give you a good flow. (Repeat this process if ever you find your unit’s water flow is slowing down). Screw cartridge onto threaded plate (SPL-4) and place onto lower/bottom water tank cover (SPL-6). Flush/backwash the cartridge every 2-3 months under running water.

Stage 8: Mineral Stones: (8th stage – Replace every 12 – 18 months)

Place mineral stones in boiling water for 5 minutes, then place outdoors to dry naturally. Spread them evenly to cover the surface area on the bottom of the lower tank (SPL-8). Repeat this process every 6 months for optimum mineral replacement.

Stage 9: Magnetic Tap:

Attach to outlet on lower/bottom water tank making sure that one washer is fixed internally and the other externally. Please do not use excessive force when installing and or using the tap.

Stage 10: PRILL BEADS (OPTIONAL)

Rinse Prill Bags under running water for 2-3 minutes. Place Prill Bags on top of stones on either side of the tank. DO NOT take Prill Beads out of the bags.
